A moment to pause

Before you continue, exhale.

The work of wellbeing begins with permission to pause. Take thirty seconds here—or simply continue when you are ready.

EXHALE

Inhale — Make space.   Hold — Be present.   Exhale — Release what you can.

Our story

A simple idea became a space people could return to.

Girls and women need space to pause, breathe, reconnect and recharge.

01

It started with space.

ERO began in 2018 with a belief that restoration is not a luxury. Through gatherings, mentorship, churches, schools and community spaces, women and girls were invited to slow down, reconnect and be supported.

02

Care became practical.

During COVID-19, the Guardian Angel Programme responded to heightened vulnerability with food assistance, psychosocial support and practical care for women navigating an exceptionally difficult season.

03

A stronger institutional chapter.

In 2025, ERO became formally registered as a Private Voluntary Organisation in Zimbabwe, creating new capacity for long-term programmes, partnerships and sustainable impact.

04

The mission is growing.

Today, ERO brings together mental wellbeing, mentorship, leadership and organisational capacity strengthening—building healthier people, teams and communities.

The archive tells the story

ERO’s history is visible in circles, school visits, practical support, women’s gatherings and the quieter moments in between.

Feature project · CTT Exhale Circle

A safe space to breathe, connect, grow and rise.

The Exhale Circle is ERO’s signature collective care and mentorship model for girls. It began in October 2025 through a partnership with Center for Total Transformation (CTT) in Spitzkorp.

Each session combines conversation, reflection, practical wellbeing tools, mentorship and community—creating a consistent place where girls can be heard, supported and encouraged.

Exhale experiences

The environment is part of the intervention.

ERO uses circles, soft seating, nature, creative practice, reflective prompts and facilitated conversation to change how a space feels—and what becomes possible inside it.

Because the advocate needs care too.

People working in social justice, development, humanitarian work and community programmes often spend their time caring for others while neglecting their own wellbeing.
